New Zealand-born man and All Blacks fan Adam Agmon, sergeant in the Israeli parachute brigade, was killed in fighting attempting to rescue civilians in the Kibbutz Kisufim community, following the Hamas attack last weekend.
His moving story was published worldwide through social networks and reached Beauden Barrett, the All Blacks full back.
The two-time World Player of the Year reacted in a few simple words:
Rest in peace Adam. Thinking of his family and friends at this difficult time. Thank you for your support, we will do our best to make him proud. BB.
He would go on to help the All Blacks to a dramatic victory over top ranked Ireland 28-24.
